Dear Parent,

Thank you for your cooperation in hosting visiting players in the forthcoming Féile na nGael competition, it is greatly appreciated. We have been drawn to host St.Mary’s from Leixlip, Co. Kildare and they will be arriving on Friday, 24th June. Here is an itinerary for the weekend:

Friday, 24th June

·        Visiting players arrive in Woodford @ 1pm.

·        3pm – Round 1, Tommie Larkins v Leixlip in Woodford.

·        A meal for both teams will be provided in club house after game.

·        Approx 5.45pm teams will be brought to Loughrea by bus for Parade.

·        After parade, all players will return to club house (approx 9pm) and host families will pick up their 2 visiting players in Woodford and return for the night to the host family.

Saturday, 25th June

·        Rounds 2 and 3 will be played in Woodford on Saturday, first game starting at 10 am. Players will need to be brought to Woodford for 9.15am. Tynagh/Abbey/Duniry and Ballycastle, Co.Antrim are also in our group and all games are in Woodford.

10.00am Leixlip v TAD

11.00am Ballycastle v Tommie Larkins

12.15pm Tommie Larkins v TAD

1.15pm Leixlip v Ballycastle

·        One team qualifies from the group, that team will play a semi final on Saturday afternoon in Craughwell @ 6pm. All other players will return to their host families.

·        Finals are on Sunday in Pearse Stadium.

·        Leixlip will travel by bus to any games outside Woodford. Host families will only have to transport kids to and from Woodford.

·        Visiting players will stay with host families for Saturday night and return to club house on Sunday morning when they will either travel to Pearse stadium for the final or depart for home.

As we are catering for 4 teams and supporters over the weekend, we would ask that all parents would help out by making sandwiches which can be left into club house on Saturday morning.

The weekend promises to be a memorable one for all involved, it is 18 years since Féile has been hosted in Galway
