Tommy Larkins GAA Club

All-Weather Astro Pitch Fundraiser

Dear Supporter,

As you are aware, thanks to your generous support and hard work over the last number of years, we have been striving to bring our club grounds up to the desired level in order to provide the best facilities we can for current and future generations.

In recent times we have completed the following:

· Clubhouse with changing areas, office, first aid room, kitchen and gymnasium

· Hurling Ball Wall

· Redevelopment of hurling field to include a training pitch

· Full nets at both ends

· Walking track with lighting

· Lighting of the training pitch

To further our commitment to our members’ future and indeed the entire community, we intend investing approx. €75,000 over the next number of months to develop an all-weather Astro Turf pitch.

Thanks to your backing for our most recent fundraising initiative along with Sports Capital grant aid we are over halfway there!

Proposed Development:

The planned development is a 46mX18m, fenced, high-grade all-weather astro turf pitch which extends in length from the Ball Wall to the pitch entrance and in width from the town side pitch fence to the car park.

How to help:

To further support our club’s fundraising efforts and make the club’s ground development ambitions a reality, a €250 contribution is being sought from donors (as this is the minimum amount to avail of the tax incentive detailed below). Obviously, all donations below this are welcome but will not fall within the scope of this letter.

Tommy Larkins GAA Club is listed as an “Approved Sports Body” by the Revenue Commissioners - Number 1155 and the club’s grounds development has been recognised as an “Approved Project”.

Sports clubs can reclaim tax from revenue on behalf of the donor. For PAYE workers, who contribute a minimum of €250 per annum, this contribution is paid from post-tax income and it is this tax payment that is reclaimed by the sporting body. It does not cost the donor anything additional but provides a huge benefit to the club. Section 41 of the Finance Act 2002 provides for a scheme of tax relief for relevant donations to an approved sports body for the funding of approved projects.

This means an additional amount from Revenue for donations over €250 received can be claimed by Tommy Larkins GAA Club at no additional cost to you.

Our target is 100 donors.
