Tommie Larkin's Seniors got their campaign back on track with a win over Athenry on Sunday afternoon. Played in a sunny but breezy Duggan Park, Larkins took the game to Athenry from the throw in and continued to set the pace right to the final whistle. Aided by a stiff breeze in the opening half, Tommies took some nice points from distance, but then a strong run by paddy Moroney through the centre of the Athenry defence, set up Niall Kelly for a well taken goal. Larkins never looked back from there on. Leading by 9 at the break, Larkins looked to extend that lead early in the second half when Paddy Moroney was through on goal, but a last ditch tackle resulted in a penalty for larkins that they failed to convert. Athenry got the deficit back to six with some long range scores of their own but Jason Flynn steadied the ship with 3 points from play and Tommies finished the game with 10 points to spare. Next up is Pearses in the last group game where a win will secure a place in the knock out stages. Best of luck!
