Beagh 1-17 Tommy Larkins 0-13
Beagh and Tommy Larkins were the last two teams to enter the group stages of the Galway senior hurling championship when they met in Athenry on a very hot evening. Having been drawn in group (D), both teams knew a victory would set them up nicely to qualify for the quarterfinals. Tommys' made the better start and had early points from Jason Flynn, Kevin McHugo and David Hickey before Beagh replied with similar scores from Kevin Keehan, Joe Gantley and Adrian Touhy. The big breakthrough of the game arrived just before half time when  Kieran Diviney breached the Larkins' defense and crashed home the ball for a tonic goal and half time lead, 1-08 to 0-06. The second half was very even with Beagh finding scoring easier especially from Joe Gantley, Padraig Landers and Kevin Keehan. Jason Flynn kept Tommy Larkins in the game with some fine points.
