Tommy Larkins under 14's played round 2 of the championship v Ardrahan on Bank Holiday Monday in Woodford. They were unable to build on their first round win however, and Ardrahan picked up their second win in group A. Playing against a strong wind in the first half, Larkins defence was under constant pressure, and though they stood up well to the physically stronger Ardrahan forwards, the concession of 4 soft goals, left them with a mountain to climb in the second half. The wind was a huge factor in this game, and aided by it in the second half, Larkins looked a much better team. Three second half goals brought them back into the game, along with 2 pointed frees, but a disallowed goal for square ball, and the failure to convert further goal chances, meant Ardrahan took the 2 championship points on a scoreline of Tommy Larkins 3:02 Ardrahan 5:03. Best for Larkins on the day were Martin Ryan, Ronan Tuohy and Diarmuid Kelly.
